Introducing Our 1st Scholarship Recipient.
To quote Isabella: My education in the visual arts means everything to me. I wouldn’t be half the person I am today if it weren’t for my teachers and access to a strong arts education. Now, more than ever, my education in the visual arts connects with my communities, far and wide.
The visual arts bring safety and give people a voice. Visual art is a means of expression and healing; It is life-saving and life-changing!
My mural is dedicated to young artists, musicians, and performers. This is situated in the hallway behind the auditorium of Darien (CT) high school— typically an area that is only seen by the performers rather than audience members. As an homage to the band and art programs that inspired my career choices, I hope to indicate to young performers that they can and should follow their passions.
